The Becot family owns two wineries, Ch Beau-Sejor Becot in St Emilion and Ch Joanin Becot in Cotes de Castillon. This wine is the family’s calling card, using declassified barrels from both estates to create a delicious Bordeaux that sells for a song. Blending 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, it’s pretty luscious, loaded with rich blackcurrant fruit with a dollop of milk chocolate for depth and plenty of graphite and herb for lift and Bordeaux character. Certainly a great cookout/hamburger Bordeaux but it will dress up a fancy feast just as well. Very nicely done.

For You If:  You enjoy true Bordeaux character with a bit of extra fruit depth and a touch of creamy milk chocolate richness.

Not For You If:  You’re looking for light or tart or firmly tannic Bordeaux – this is rich, round and easy.
