Organic/Bio We think of Nerello Mascalese as the province of Mt. Etna, so it’s interesting to see an example from all the way across Sicily to the west, south of Palermo. To use a Beaujolais analogy, if Etna Nerello is Moulin a Vent, then this is more Brouilly – juicy, fruit filled, direct and supple enough for solo sipping and serving with a light chill. The dark cherry fruit is lifted by a nice floral note and a touch of chocolate joins the floral/berry flavors across the juicy, easygoing, finish. A fun drink and fine match for all kind of lighter dishes.
