From Mendocino fruit, this semi-carbonic Syrah gives the savory complexity of Northern Rhone examples with the cheerful dose of crunchy, ripe, fruit you get from Beaujolais. A juicy, spicy, lifted nose pulls you into a wine that has plenty of blue/black fruit and a generous pinch of black olive garrigue flavor for extra complexity and depth. Firm, but not hard, it’s a great companion for grilled or roasted meats and mushrooms.

For You If:   You enjoy the savory flavors of Northern Rhone Syrah in a more summer-friendly package; you’re after something that delivers serious wine complexity in a chillable, enjoy right now, package.

Not For You If:   You can’t stand any meaty/black olive flavors – they’re accents here, but definitely present; you’re after something rich and well-oaked – this is deep but fresh and doesn’t show oak spice or vanilla flavors.
