The Steininger family specialize in "varietal fizz" - sparkling wines that clearly taste like the grapes they came from. Like here in a wine that's redolent of classic Sauvignon Blanc aromas of green apple, ripe citrus, and hints of fresh herbs. The creamy-textured bubbles balance crisp acidity and let the flavors of Granny Smith apple, lemon zest and gooseberry shine. A lovely match for anything with goat cheese or a fresh fish crudo and just plain fun to drink solo, too.

For You If:  You like the flavors of classic French or New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and would enjoy that with a bit of bubbles; you're after a softer, rounder, sparkling wine for drinkers who find Champagne too austere or dry.

Not For You If:  You're looking for lots of winemaking/bottle age character - this is on the lees a fairly short 12 months and made to maximize the flavor of the fruit vs winemaking.
