Lower ABV THE benchmark Australian dry Riesling year after year. This is 100% Riesling grown at 1,400-1,600 feet elevation on thin, infertile, soils in southeastern Australia’s cool Eden Valley. Most of the wine ferments with native yeasts and all in tank to preserve its distinctive Eden Valley notes of fresh flowers, ripe lemon and lime, crisp peach and intense stony minerality. Drunk young, this bone dry Riesling shines with everything from salty oysters and clams fresh from the sea and complex, basil-laced, spicy Thai noodles. And if you can keep your hands off it, it will age beautifully for a couple of decades, turning softer, toastier and even more complex. As Suckling says in the 92 point review, "A bone-dry, floral riesling with aromas of white flowers, daisies, peaches and melon. Bright and tender with a zesty quality."
For You If: You love dry white wines that are light in weight (this is just 11.5% alcohol) and explosively full of flavor and refreshment; you enjoy citrusy Sancerre or New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and would like to get that level of flavor intensity with a bit more lime and nothing grassy/herbal.
Not For You If: No matter how many times we write the word "dry," you just can't believe Riesling isn't sweet - actually, if you can't believe that, you definitely SHOULD try this.
