Lower ABV Mathias Ruttenstock burst onto the Austrian wine scene a decade ago on the strength of his award-winning Grüner Veltliners, which remain the winery’s focus. But he also works magic with this plot of 45+ year-old Riesling vines on rocky soils. This is “fun” Riesling, bursting with peach and apricot aromas and blending stone fruit, pineapple and gravel flavors through a refreshing, easy, finish. A great summer quaff!

For You If:   You enjoy the flavors of Riesling – stone fruit, citrus, stony minerality – and want that in an easy-drinking, party and pool-friendly package.

Not For You If:   You need your Riesling to be so dry it hurts – this finishes dry but has lots of generous fruit and goes down very easy.
