Organic/Bio Lower ABV From coastal south-eastern Sicily, Dario Serrentino works only with native grapes and in an organic, hands-off, style. This tiny production (100 cases) blend of Nero d’Avola, Grillo, Frappato, Insolia, Catarrato, and Perricone captures the joy of the land in a juicy, fleshy, bouncy red full of strawberry, black cherry, currant and citrus fruit with a dash of salty minerality and fine, easy, tannins. You can certainly drink it with a chill and it's going to refresh and revive with a huge range of foods. Delicious fun.
For You If: You're looking for a delicious, light, organic, red to sip chilled on a sunny day or break out to handle a table covered in all kinds of food - Thanksgiving, for example, but a big spread of Ethiopian or Asian or Indian dishes, too.
Not For You If: You're looking for the weight and intensity of black fruit you'd expect from Nero d'Avola - this is more fresh, juicy, and vibrant.
