Organic/Bio A terrific Cotes du Rhone from organic Grenache (55%), Syrah, Mourvedre and Carignan and aged in concrete and large oak cask. The savory black olive note that builds with air nicely balances all the ripe raspberry fruit and a dusting of baker's chocolate on the finish adds a touch of bite. As Jeb Dunnuck says in the 90-92 point review, it’s a “gorgeous wine in the making. Blackberries, peppery herbs, violets, and herbes de Provence notes all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a great mid-palate, ripe tannins, and outstanding length.”
For You If: You enjoy more Savory Rhone reds that deliver plenty of olive and garrigue character to go with the big fruit.
Not For You If: You’re looking for the more straight ahead, juicy, fruit of a California Rhone Ranger red – this is definitely “French” in feel.
