The second wine of famed Ch Lagrange in Saint-Julien is a lovely, fresh, blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot and showing nicely now and for 5-8 years to come.
"Brimming with cranberry and morello-cherry aromas but with a healthy dose of dry tannin this is a very fresh wine. Would rate more highly if it had a bit more complexity. Drink or hold."
"The 2015 Les Fiefs de Lagrange has a generous bouquet with red cherries, strawberry and light red currant jus aromas. The oak here is nicely integrated, and a little more gregarious in style than its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with a powdery texture, a fine bead of acidity, quite sharp and citrus in style with a generous dash of white pepper on the finish. This is turning into a much better second wine than I expected."
