Lower ABV A delicious and fascinating Portuguese white that will impress you solo and shine with seafood laced with fennel or herbs. It’s a blend of Arinto and Fernão Pires from vineyards west of the mountains, with full exposure to the ocean. You’ll taste some sea salt here along with juicy kumqualt, lemon, Meyer lemon and fennel bulb. An amazing white tea note comes up on the firm, almost sharp, finish. A crisp 11.0% alcohol here.
For You If: You like sharp, salty/minerally, whites that have a bit of bite to make your mouth water and elevate what you’re eating; you need a pairing for something braised with fennel or finished with fennel fronds or other savory herbs.
Not For You If: You’re looking for soft, fruity, easy – this is sharp and a little austere, although still a joy to drink!
