Since 2014, Pierre Fresne has made one or two "Arquemie" - or experimental - cuvees per year. This is his first 100% Pinot Noir from 2015 (63%) and a solera begun in 2012 done all in steel and disgorged in late 2023 with no dosage at all. Which is good, because the wine has more than enough power and richness of fruit and texture to dispennse with sugar! Cherry/raspberry fruit, earth, slate-like minerality and a long, fresh, finish.

For You If:  You're looking for Champagne that will pair wonderfully with duck, game or even beef - this has plenty of power that doesn't get in the way of solo sipping.

Not For You If:  You're looking for light or elegant - this is bold and muscular and very deep.
