We think the March, 2025, Vinous review of this 100% Pinot Noir gets it mostly right: “The NV Brut Blanc de Noirs Premier Cru sports the merest touch of pink and the perfume of tart red and green apples. A trace of reductive flintiness on the palate joins these fresh apple notions. The foam is fine and smooth, anchored in a lovely and profound earthiness that combines with this enveloping apple freshness, resulting in a resonant and fresh wine. Lovely and lasting. Disgorged: January, 2024.”
The one quibble we have is with “the merest touch of pink.” The bottle we drank last week had clearly taken on color and is showing a lovely pale salmon tone. The color screams “rosé” but the palate is pure Blanc de Noirs. Delicious stuff.
For You If: You enjoy the power and depth of Pinot Noir Champagne in a smooth and fresh style and don't mind if the color is a bit salmon-pink.
Not For You If: You're looking for a lot of brioche/buttered toast flavor or the kind of acidity and bite you'll find in Blanc de Blancs.
