Lower ABV Ryan Deovlet's journey from baseball player to organic farmer in Australia to California winemaker is pretty fascinating. But not more fascinating that his Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Blanc! This is a "kentic" wine, meaning it's really active on your palate with energy and movement. Vinous describes it well in their 92 point review, "a delight. Lime, crushed rocks, green apple, mint and white pepper give the Pinot Blanc striking brightness. Strong floral accents and lively acids give this airy white tons of character." Great on its own and with all kinds of seafood (especially crab!), but don't delay grabbing some - only 150 cases made.
For You If: You like Pinot Blanc/Pinot Bianco and want to try one with even more energy and action than usual; you're a fan of Italian whites or Muscadet and want to try something with that feel from California.
Not For You If: You're looking for lots of super-ripe fruit or oak - this is early picked for energy and aged in old oak, steel and sandstone.
