From the finest slice of Puligny's large Folatieres 1er Cru, on the steepest sloped section of the vineyard where the soils are stony and pour and the exposure almost due south. You'll taste the sunshine here in richly textured, fleshy, pear, white peach and butter-toasted hazelnut flavors supported by outstanding fresh Granny Smith acids and loads of dusty minerality. Pure, palate-coating, and very long, it's already a delight to taste and drink and will improve for a decade with ease. The folks at JancisRobinson.com describe it well in their 17/20 point praise: "Complex and inviting aroma: the oak is present but the minerally fruit is the star. Fabulous texture, rich, spiced and creamy yet with excellent freshness. Long, rounded and harmonious."
For You If: You enjoy the extra concentration and complexity of 1er Cru white Burgundy in a ready to enjoy or cellar form and a reasonable - for 1er Cru Puligny! - price.
