Organic/Bio Lower ABV Not much to add to JancisRobinson.com's glowing 17.5/20 point rave: "Certified organic. Fermented in barrel using their proprietary yeast made from their own vineyard. Full natural malo. The wine spends winter on full lees (70% in barrel, 30% in stainless steel) and then the two portions are blended in spring and the wine spends a few more months on fine lees in stainless steel with a bit of bâtonnage.
Rounded, pretty, open, ripe nose with an underline of richness – just like the palate. Beautiful, fresh, ripe apricot fruit. Shining with fruit. The first note of chalky texture in these Malandes and more pithy bite and bitterness on this one. The finish is long, very long, informed by a racing central line of acidity and sinewy power of bitterness. But still, it’s the fruit which sings. Great stuff." As usual, this wants 3 years or so to complete the oak integration and will sail on for a decade after that.
For You If: You want true Grand Cru Burgundy quality and character at around half what you'd pay from the Cote d'Or; you have a bit of paitience - this is delicious now but will be so much better in a couple of years that it would be sad to not wait!
Not For You If: You're after the sleek, slick, feel of all steel Chablis - this has the shape and - at this young age - flavors of barrel.
