Just what you're expecting from Rioja Reserva. Meaning what Suckling describes in the 91 point review: "Ripe dark cherries and berries with touches of black walnuts and mocha. Juicy and medium-bodied on the palate, with firm tannins and a long, succulent finish. Quite well balanced." It's 87% Tempranillo plus Garnacha, Graciano and Maturana with 23 months in a 70/30 blend of American and French oak. Supple and fresh enough for solo sipping but really at home with lamb, beef stew, or any meat dish laced with herbs.
For You If: You're already a Reserva Rioja fan and are looking for exactly that profile at a solid value price; you're attracted to a red that blends oak spice and earth with dark berry fruit and finishes long and fine.
