Organic/Bio My first thought tasting this Merlot-based Bordeaux blend from Spain’s Cava country was, “Like a Spanish super-Tuscan” but I can’t disagree with the Canadian journalist who went with “Combines the finesse and mouth-coating qualities of a merlot-driven Bordeaux but with the sun and heat of southern Spain.”
Complex, smoky, oodles of spice and herbs and mocha, and deep blue and blackberry fruit all delivered in a densley textured wine that finishes with fine, focused, grip. This is really delicious and will be great with lamb or steak. As Suckling.com says in the 91 point write-up, “So much mocha on the nose with some dark plums and spices, too. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Textured and velvety with dark berries and a lively finish.”
For You If: If you enjoy Bordeaux, Bolgheri super-Tuscans and even Napa Cab, you’re going to love this, especially with grilled meats and vegitables.
