Lower ABV Best known for frothy sparkling wines and gutsy Gruner Veltliner, the Steininger family is quietly crushing it with Riesling these days. This is a lovely introduction to the purity, energy and perfect balance of ripe fruit flavors and stony, dry, finish that is their hallmark. As Suckling says in the 91 point write-up, "This is an aromatically expressive riesling that has notes of orange blossoms, peaches, persimmons and sliced apples. Medium-bodied and tangy, with excellent clarity of fruit." Great value, too.

For You If:   You enjoy the flavors of ripe, nicely fruited, Riesling without the residual sugar typical of German examples; you want the minerality and cut of Albarino with a bit more lime/apple and less peach.

Not For You If:    You're looking for something neutral - this is very expressive! - or marked by oak - this is done all in steel.
