Lower ABV Patrick Giboulot has only been making wine from his family's Cote de Beaune vines since 2014, but the talent is definitely there. The rich raspberry and black cherry fruit here is balanced beautifully by accents of walnut, wild flowers and bitter chocolate with a captivating black tea note that lingers on the finish and grows stronger with air. The 25% new oak has been absorbed nicely and both the aromas and flavors will continue to grow with air or cellaring through 2032+. This is terrific value in genuine, delicious, Burgundy Pinot Noir.
For You If: You're after a real red Burgundy experience - including the ability to enjoy the wine flowering in cellar - at an outstanding value price.
Not For You If: You're after something that feels lean/tart or super velvety and rich - this is nicely mouthfilling while remaining vivid and wonderfully energetic.
