Owned by Archery Summit, Arcus is on Worden Hill Rd in the Dundee Hills near Maresh, Powell Hill, Weber, Clos Electrique and Le Pavillon. For years the vineyard name was kept off the label at the owners' request, so the sourcing was "Mysterious." This is the last vintage PG will get fruit here, so the end of a very impressive run.
As Audrey Frick says in the 98 point rave, it's "profound and gains intensity on the nose, with notes of toasted cedar, ripe cherries, pie spices, and crushed pine needles. Pure and fresh, it feels more noble on the nose, but there is great electric energy on the palate, with ripe fruit and a long, mouthwatering, salty finish. I love the crunchy, angular feel of this wine, and it has a lot going on." Hard not to drink now, but do hold some if you can!
For You If: You love Dundee Hills Pinot, because this is about as good as that ever gets.
Not For You If: You're looking for fleshy or smooth - this has plenty of body and texture, leaning fresh and very active on your palate.
