Organic/Bio What if you pick your Grüner Veltliner, let the juice and skins ferment together for a couple of weeks, press it into old barrels, let it do whatever it wants to do for a few months until you bottle it without any filtration? You get Gruner with “No Makeup”! Wine Enthusiast describes this nicely in their 90 point review, “This is cloudy in appearance with prominent acidity fueling the energy to the notes of peach and apricot. Sudden saltiness takes over midpalate, while slight grip marks the persistent finish.”

For You If:   You enjoy the tang, grip and depth of “orange wines” but don’t want a lot of mousy funk.

Not For You If:   You’re looking for classic GV aromas and flavors – this is wilder and less fruity than that.
