Expanding from their fine Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Icario created this "super-Tuscan" blend of 60% Sangiovese plus Cabernet and Merlot, all done in French oak. It's rich and deep with layers of blackberry, blackcurrant, and dark cherry fruit, a dash of oak spice and just enough acidity and tannin to give shape. An easy-drinking, almost flashy, red that invites even Napa drinkers to discover the joy of Tuscan reds!
For You If: You're after a crowd-pleasing red to enjoy before, during and after a dinner of grilled/roasted beef or lamb or a super-savory and rich mushroom lasagna.
Not For You If: You're after the more traditional flavors of Tuscan Sangiovese - this leans into the Cab/Merlot profile and finishes with less grip and bite than a typical Montepulciano red.
