Fronsac on the Right Bank shares soil type with St Estephe on the Left Bank and displays some of the same power and grip as well. In a warm, rich, vintage, here that structure is matched with terrific dark fruit. As Suckling says in his 92 point review: "Aromas of ripe berries with sweet tobacco, walnut and savory herb undertones. Medium-bodied with a meaty structure and velvety tannins. Broad and opulent mid-palate with succulent fruit and a lingering finish. 85% merlot and 15% cabernet franc."
For You If: You like some muscle and grip in your Bordeauxs - this is firm, but not hard or drying.
Not For You If: You're looking for smooth and silky- this is structured for cellar time and for lamb or beef tonight.
