Organic  Julien Bertrand farms vines in 6 of the 12 Beaujolais Crus, and here he captures the essence of the most famous of those: Moulin-a-Vent. Dark, gripping, not at all plush, this is traditional Beaujolais with whole clusters allowed to start carbonic maceration and then finished with a light dose of sulfur.  James Suckling describes it well in the 92 point review, “This is a fragrant Moulin-a-Vent with aromas of pomegranates, raspberries, red tea and licorice. It’s medium-bodied and wonderfully fresh, with silky tannins and a mineral finish.”
