The 3rd wine of this 2nd growth estate comes from younger vines and is mainly Merlot with just a touch of new French oak. As Vinous says, "a pretty bouquet, featuring light blackcurrant and cedar scents. It’s understated at first but with fine delineation and gathering pace with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, a keen line of acidity, touches of black pepper and saline/black olive compote notes towards the finish."
For You If: You enjoy Margaux perfume and pretty fruit in a ready-to-go package; you're after Bordeaux to enjoy young that gives real complexity, not just big fruit.
Not For You If: You're after gobs of fruit, power or grip - this is more easygoing and supple.
