Vermentino from Sardinia is a classic Mediterranean seafood wine giving plenty of ripe fruit with an extra twist of complexity and a bit of something salty at the end. Which sums up this classic example from the southeastern coast of Sardinia nicely. Citrus, yellow apple, pear and nectarine fruit gain complexity from a touch of wild herb and a dry finish that somehow tastes of almond oil and honey. Lovely seafood and sipping wine.
