Organic/Bio From the Reventos Cava family, this is a 50/50 blend of Garnacha and the almost extinct Sumoll grape done mostly in concrete and with minimal sulfur. Vinous's 93 point review gives you a great idea of what to expect: "This reductive red features undergrowth and blood orange aromas, along with hints of dried flowers and herbs. Dry and fairly rich on the palate, it has a glycerol mouthfeel that wraps up the tannins. The Garnatxa nicely buffers the rusticity of Sumoll." There's a big wine in this squat bottle!
For You If: You're after a red with a rich texture and very dry feel and lots of non-fruit flavors - orange peel, herbs, flowers, forest floor and more!
Not For You If: You're looking forward to a big mouthful of Garnacha fruit - here the fruit is underneath and supports all the wild savory character.
