Organic/Bio As usual, one taste and you'll think, "Ah, so THIS is what Willamette Valley Pinot Gris is supposed to taste like!" From an organically farmed vineyard south of Salem, it's fermented and aged 50/50 in stainless steel and older French oak with 5 months on the lees. Green plum, peach and lime fruit picks up a touch of spice from barrel to go along with lovely floral accents. As Stephen writes, this strikes "a razor’s edge balance between complex texture, freshness, and depth." A delicious wine to sip or pair with anything from buttered scallops to fried chicken.
For You If: You love Willamette Valley Pinot Gris that has the zesty zip of Pinot Grigio with some of the textural richness of Alsace wines.
Not For You If: You're after "light" or sweet Pinot Gris - this is hardly heavy, but has real palate presence and finishes with generous fruit and a nice dry snap.
