Legend has it that Rainwater Madeira was created when a Baltimore merchant left casks of dry Maderia out and they were soaked in an unexpected storm. The lighter, fresher, style became hugely popular in the then Colonies and remains one of the most refreshing Madeira wines today. This is a classic with sea salt and juniper on the nose and dried stone fruit and hickory nut flavors on the zippy, mouthwatering, palate. Dry, penetrating, and a HUGE value.

For You If:   You’re looking for dry Madeira for sipping or dressing up a dish – this will taste great in sauces and gravy and all by itself with some nuts and dried apricots.

Not For You If:   You want a dessert-style Madeira – this is dry.
