Organic/Bio Wine Advocate calls Thibaud Boudignon "one of France’s foremost vignerons and winemakers today" for his ultra pure, intense, Chenin Blancs from Savennieres and Anjou. Here 35 year-old vines on schist and volcanic ash give astonishing purity and intensity. This is a bit beyond the usual "cherries and berries" kind of tasting note. It's best experienced as a very long, captivating and just a bit stunning total experience. One of the very finest wines in the shop today.
For You If: Certainly if you love Loire Valley Chenin but, really, even if you think you don't, this is just a virtuoso display of brilliant white wine crafting you shouldn't miss.
Not For You If: You're looking for some of the wildness in aroma/flavor of Savennieres - this might hint in that direction, but it's really about purity and intensity vs wet wool, candle wax, honeycomb, etc.
