This relatively young Chianti Classico estate (founded 2008) is making beautiful wines full of Chianti character with a touch of elegance and outstanding purity. It’s 100% Sangiovese done in large, old, oak casks. Full of sweet cherry fruit, there’s a silky feel and just right accents of savory Tuscan underbrush. There’s enough substance here to pair with a steak and the fruity needed to shine with tomato sauce, too.

For You If:   You enjoy the fruit and savory complexity of Chianti but don’t want the grippy tannin, overt oak flavors or leathery earthiness; you’re looking for a really good Italian red to drink with really good Italian food.

Not For You If:  You’re after the aged/oaked character of Chianti Riserva or more traditional Chianti bottlings – this is fresh, purely fruited, and not oaky flavored at all.
