Organic/Bio This young estate, founded 1999, works only with 30-60 year-old Tinto de Toro vines they farm organically and largely with horses, rather than tractors, providing plowing power. New and used French oak smooths Toro's tough tannins a bit and minimal intervention winemaking otherwise lets the grape's own flavor and character really shine through. This is their easygoing Toro, redolent of black and blue fruit, showing a whiff of spice and sandalwood, and finishing with firm, not tough, tannins. A terrifically robust red for braises, stews, roasts and grilling.
