A classic, old-fashioned, Rioja from the winery's best vines in Rioja Alavesa and a few prime plots in Rioja Alta. It's 100% Tempranillo aged 24 months in American and French oak barriques. A bit more savory and unami-laden than the 2012, it's going to be great with mushrooms! As Suckling.com says in the 92 point review, "A savory, earthy red with plum, tobacco, shitake-mushroom and walnut character. Medium body with a firm, silky-tannined palate and a persistent finish. Lean, but fresh."
For You If: You like your reds mature with loads of savory, earthy, character and a long finish.
