Organic/Bio
As the double 97 point and one 98 point review suggest, this is "one of the legendary Mayacamas" Cabs. From the top of Mount Veeder, it marries terrific ripeness with true mountain vibrancy and structure and a finish that just won't quit. As Vinous writes, it's "fabulous. It's vivid and super-classic to the core, offering up an exotic mélange of dark fruit, espresso, dried herbs, iron, forest floor and incense. The 2021 is a quintessential mountain wine from Mt. Veeder, but there's just enough polish to wrap it all together while avoiding any sense of rusticity." Best from 2028 until longer than you'll wait, but delicious already with a juicy steack or rich roast or stew.
For You If: You enjoy legendary old-school Napa Cabs like Heitz Martha's or, well, Mayacamas but with more richness of fruit and enough polish that you can dip into the wine young and enjoy far, far, into the future.
Not For You If: You're looking for plush, lush, and fruit abov all - this has terrific texture and fruit but the story here is stony minerality and savory complexity.
