Organic/Bio Lower ABV Heinrich Hartl III is best known for his very serious, structured, Pinot Noirs from top sites on the wooded ridge stretching southward from Vienna’s suburbs. This is his daily-drinking Pinot, done with 20% whole clusters and aged mainly in steel. Like all his wines, it’s more savory than fruity, with the cherry preserve and orange zest fruit wrapped in earthy forest floor and baking spice flavors. Ready now for all kinds of food!
For You If: You’re looking for more of Burgundy’s earthy complexity than California/Oregon fruit at a fine value price.
Not For You If: You’re in the mood for fruit-driven Pinot with lots of flesh – this has plenty of body and presence, but is more fresh than flesh.
