Lower ABV Ercole is importer The Piedmont Guy's line-up designed to introduce American consumers to the joys of traditional Piemonte wines - and the joys of enjoying them without fuss or ceremony. From a Monferrato co-op, the goal here is to make wines that taste like they're supposed to at a price anyone can love. The Moscato d'Asti is a fine success, loaded with ripe peach, candied grapefruit, green apple, a bit of honey and something floral you can't quite name. It's sweet but not at all cloying and the juicy acids and low alcohol invite casual afternoon sipping, enjoyment at brunch, or sipping with fruit-based pies and desserts. It's a lot of fun!
For You If: You're in the mood for fun! - this is pretty joyful, fruit-filled, and gently sweet-tart wine that will bring a smile to your face; you're looking for wine to drink with breakfast - this will be great with bacon and pastries!
Not For You If: You're looking for the density of a traditional dessert wine - this is light, frothy, fun.
