Jean Case and husband Steve (of AOL fame) keep going from strength to strength at this top Virginia estate. A blend of 43% Petit Verdot, 23% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc, 11% Tannat and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon gives a medium-bodied red blend with a touch of new French oak. A classy, fruit-forward Bordeaux blend with aromas of herb, smoke and earth and juicy red fruit over light and fine tannins. A great value in top-notch Virginia red.
For You If: You're looking for great value in Virginia red wine; you don't care about "Virginia," but do want a straight ahead, balanced, nicely rich and black-fruited American red to enjoy solo and with burgers, steaks, roasted veggies and more.
