Organic/Bio Lower ABV From the steep slopes of the wandering valley known as Vau de Vey. A wine of fine richness and volume with plenty of stony Chablis minerality and precision. It's delicious right now (although give it an hour of air for the aromatics to come up) and will get better and better over the next few years.
Decanter's 91 point review captures this nicely: "This lovely left-bank premier cru boasts good concentration of Bosc pear and passion-fruit aromas with a pleasantly chalky mineral edge. The texture is snappy and crisp, but there is enough density to bring balance and luxuriously draw out the finish. The grapes come from a total of 3.5ha of organically farmed vines; they are fermented in a combination of stainless steel (70%) and cask (30%) before ageing in a tank before bottling. The wine will drink well on release, but it should come into its own with a few years of bottle age." Excellent value in 1er Cru Chablis.
For You If: You're looking for Chablis with the conentration and fruit to support solo sipping while still having the cut and minerality to shine with shellfish; you'd like a fine value white Burgundy you can drink now and enjoy evolving oer the next few years.
Not For You If: You're after Chablis that shows it's oak influence - there's a bit of barrel here but it's reflected in the wine's texture, not flavors.
