Having created Pingus - the great estate of Ribera del Duero and one of the greats in the world - Peter Sisseck created Psi to explore the region's "soul" and, especially, the unrealized potential of many of its great vineyards. This is fully ripe but not at all sweetly fruited or fat. As Vinous says in the 92-94 point review, "Opens with pine and herbal notes, then red fruit—cherry and a touch of plum. The palate shows fine-grained tannins, a midweight texture and detailed fruit. The bottle will reveal the Soria character in the interplay of fine tannins and acidity." A fresh and ripe wine that will shine with sausages and lamb.
For You If: You love the mixture of black fruit and blood orange that Ribera Tempranillo shows when it’s perfectly ripe and not crushed by oak; you want a perfect match for steak or lamb that shows more freshness and savory character than a Napa Cab and less oak that most Rioja.
