Look, the label is a gimmick and if it got you to look, it worked! But once you're beyond that, this delivers a solid and very salmon-friendly Oregon Pinot Noir experience. It's nicely ripe with plenty of dark cherry, raspberry and a touch of lifting cranberry for freshness. There's a hint of something earthy here - maybe cocoa powder? - but the fruit is the start. Certainly works for cocktails, but the fine tannins and ripe fruit make it a natural match for planked salmon!
For You If: You're in the market for a crowd-pleasing Oregon Pinot Noir for a cookout or party and appreciate a bit of value, too - nice price here!
Not For You If: You're looking some something lean and bright or super rich/deep - this runs down the middle.
