Lower ABV In Spain’s Basque region, the Hondarrabi Zuri grape gives a tart and salty wine enlivened by a touch of spritz leftover from fermentation and time resting on the lees. This is a great example, with crunchy peach, melon and pear fruit wrapped in layers of leesy minerality and salty/savory accents. It’s light – just 11.5% alcohol – and super fresh smells and tastes a bit of the sea. Refreshing and terrific with fresh seafood!
For You If: You’re looking for something even lighter and more seaside-like than Albarino or Muscadet to enjoy with steamed shrimp, mussels and oysters.
Not For You If: You’re in the mood for something fruity or rich – this is crisp, light and very minerally.
