Organic/Bio Krautergarten translates as “herb garden,” which is all this rocky, barren, site could grow before grapes were planted here 40 some years ago. And that herbal character still shines through in the wine underneath the dark black cherry, raspberry and blueberry fruit.  Notes of sage, rosemary, rosehip and tea give complexity and a dollop of toast and back add to the savory character. Pinot for roasted and grilled meat!

For You If:   You’re looking for Pinot fruit and weight paired with the more savory character of old Rioja or Northern Rhone reds; you’re after Pinot Noir to drink with an herb-covered lamb chop – this would be great!
