Organic/Bio If you were a master of Loire Chenin Blanc, maker of wines often allocated, always highly praised, what would you make for a red? Francois Chidaine opted to go the other direction entirely, creating this "country red" from equal parts Cabernet Franc, Cot (Malbec) and Pinot d'Aunis. It's overtly herbal and earthy, maybe borderline funky, with dark currant and red berry fruit and zesty, mouthwatering, structure. Drink it with a cassoulet or anything earthy on a Tuesday night and you'll be happy.
For You If: You like your reds with a dose of earth - maybe even funk - to go with the ripe fruit and herbal accents; you're looking for a red that's light in weight but full in palate impact.
