Organic/Bio Lower ABV This is seriously good California Chardonnay in a fun style from the very serious guys at Model Farm. The fruit is all from sites 1,000 feet or higher elevation, farmed organically, fermented with native yeast and aged in old oak. There's a lovely creaminess here with pear, sweet spice, caramel and a hint of butter on the back where a touch of grip elevates and sustains the generous flavors.
As Vinous says in the 92 point review, it's " soft-textured, round and generously fruited. Toasted almond, lemon, sweet vanilla and an enticing kick of flint strike off from the get-go, coasting through the mouth with inner tension, stony minerality and a little crunch of sea salt. This is a compelling mountain Chardonnay at an even more compelling price."
For You If: You love the texture and flavors of California Chardonnay and are in the mood for one that's just a touch more fresh and refreshing.
Not For You If: You're after something thick or heavy - this is perfectly ripe at 13.0% alcohol.
