Organic/Bio Lower ABV Jerome Seguin's 0.7 acre plot of Chambolle Musigny vines are just above the village chapel, an unfortunately prime location for the damage from 2021's April frosts. But the 40-50 year-old vines then rallied wonderfully to give a tiny quantity of darkly intense Chambolle that needs nothing but a few years time to really sing. A bit shy on the nose at first, but clearly more refined and fine in its scents of crushed red and black berries, forest floor, and just a hint of spice. More closed on the palate too before opening a bit to show lovely flavors of dark berries, dried flowers, a hint of iron and powdery spice. The same silky feel Seguin achieved with his other 2021s is here, but also more definite grip and mineral spine through the fruit and fruit blossom finish. Very much worth decanting now and built to arrive at peak in 5-6 years and last 5+ years beyond that.
