Two great Burgundy winemakers partner down in Minervois to create fascinating wines with the gutsy intensity of the south and just a touch of Burgundian elegance and flair.  This is their 100% Syrah cuvee from vines they planted at 200-500 meters elevation near Ruisseau de la Vie (the Life River).  Perfumed, silky and long, the blackberry fruit, cracked pepper, summer violets and roasted meat flavors make this a great BBQ and roasted meat companion.  But it can also take a light chill and shine with earthy mushrooms, rustic lentil, and savory sausages with ease.

For You If:   You enjoy the flavors of French Syrah and want one that perfectly balances ripe and generous fruit with freshness, minerality and a bit of something savory.

Not For You If:   You want your Syrah to be redolent of bacon fat, super-firm of tannin, or at Aussie Shraz levels of ripeness.
