A pretty remarkable value in top-notch, but friendly, Agalianico from a one of the region's finest estates. Plump, sweetly fruited, and just a touch grippy on the finish, it’s a great cook-out and rich food red.

"The 2021 Taurasini Donna Chiara is a deep purple color in the glass. It shows a dusty bouquet of dried violets, blackberries and menthol. It’s soft-textured yet sleek, with crisp red and black fruits carried across a core of citrus-infused acidity. The 2021 tapers off with a bitter twang while maintaining a lovely energy and freshness. This would excel best alongside a hearty meal."
