If good things don’t always come in small packages, they certainly do here! The estate has been making benchmark Meursault in the old style since Albert Grivault began building the domaine in the 1870s. In 2020, as usual, their 1er Cru Perrieres is rich, creamy, loaded with ripe pear, stone fruit and buttered hazelnut aromas and flavors with a generosity and depth that more than rewards drinking now. The purity and minerality are excellent as well and will grow more prominent over the next dozen or so years in cellar (even in 375ml). Stupendously satisfying.
