Essentially the second wine of Ch Fayat, this is textbook Pomerol from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. The new French oak here is nicely absorbed by the deep, robust, concentration of the fruit, showing blackberry and raspberry aromas and flavors at the core with accents of spice, smoke and graphite. The silky tannins propel the finish long and sustained and while the wine will certainly improve and turn meatier over the next 15 years, it's already delicious today.
