Lower ABV Sylvain Bzikot has always made a very "Puligny-like" Bourgogne Blanc, and his terrific 2020 is no exception. From a trio of vineyards that all touch village sites, farmed with care, picked by hand, and fermented and aged in barrel, the 2020 opens with lovely aromas of fresh apple, white flowers and sliced almond. At first taut and very mineral, it opens beautifully to deliver bold flavors of green peach, juicy apple, lemon zest and dusty, stony, minerality. The concentration and grip are outstanding for Bourgogne Blanc, as is the sustained, satisfying, finish. At once classy and friendly, it's already a great house white and will keep improving through 2025+.
